Comedian Kevin Hart was seriously injured in a car accident in the wee hours of Sunday morning, but TMZ reports that after undergoing surgery on his back his prospects are looking sunnier. The celeb-watch website caught up with his wife Eniko Hart, who told them that Hart was “going to be just fine.”
The accident took place on Mulholland Highway in Los Angeles. The car’s driver, Jason Black, was taken to the UCLA hospital by helicopter, and his girlfriend Rebecca Broxterman, who was in the back seat, only sustained minor injuries. Though Kevin is has what TMZ deemed a “major back injury,” he was somehow able to walk to the road from the car. TMZ reports that after home evaluation, he was immediately sent to the hospital.
TMZ calls Mulholland Highway “treacherous.” It features a portion of road known as ‘The Snake,’ where the highway curves to such an intense degree as to become incredibly dangerous to drivers. It is not clear exactly where Hart crashed, but it’s safe to say ultimate caution should be taken while driving down any stretch of Mulholland.
TMZ spoke to separate sources who told them that the surgery went well and that Hart would be recuperating in the hospital for the next few days. Check back here for updates.
